 Interview with Dr. Newbold

  • In 1989, my wife and I went to a Steve Green Concert. He began by saying, “It is my desire that by the end of this evening, all of your affections would be set on Jesus Christ. ” After that, Jonathan Edwards’s book Religious Affections inspired me.

  • Anyone who loves Jesus enough to worship Him should read this book, particularly pastors and worship leaders, as it will greatly benefit the church's music leaders and all those engaged in congregational worship. Reading this book will elevate the overall worship experience and offer a fresh perspective that nurtures a deepening love and affection for Christ, reminding us that every aspect of our worship influences our discipleship.

  • This book will guide you in your worship of Jesus. You will understand the role of Jesus in worship and your role in worship. There is more to church music than style.

  • I wrote this book to open doors for my teaching and seminar ministry. I wrote it so that I could teach this topic. I hope to be invited to teach in churches and on university and seminary campuses.

  • Having a target for a congregational worship experience lets us know what we hope to accomplish. It also informs the worshipers what they can expect from the corporate gathering. Having a target is like having a vision for worship. This vision helps to clarify what we do as a body of believers when we gather for worship.
